To kick off the season, Plummer Youth Promise seeks your support on Giving Tuesday, December 2, 2025 to help young people experiencing foster care. This global day of giving encourages everyone to support their own communities. A generous gift helps fuel the important resources we need to reconnect kids with their family and ensure they have a magical holiday season surrounded by love.

This time of year can feel difficult for youth in foster care. Holidays can bring up a range of different emotions for the youth. They think of holiday traditions, joy while opening presents, and past Thanksgiving meals they shared with family who may no longer be in their life. Thousands of kids in the foster care system feel as though they’re on the outside looking in.

Nothing can compare to the love and stability of family, but Plummer tries to create meaningful holiday memories that the youth will carry for years to come.

During Thanksgiving, our residential staff cook a full Thanksgiving meal with turkey, pie, and a beautiful set table equipped with fall décor. The youth take turns sharing what they’re thankful for and enjoy a delicious meal together.

In December, during holiday season, we host a large festive party in our living room space, decorated with holiday cheer and presents from our generous community of supporters. Youth open their gifts with tear-filled eyes and gratitude as they find items they’ve wished for all year long.

This is one of the happiest and saddest days in Plummer’s residential programs. Like all children, the youth light up as they receive their presents. But at the end of the day, the most important piece is missing from the holiday: Family.

Every day we work hard to reconnect kids with their families and find permanency: a safe, stable, emotionally secure parenting relationship. On this Giving Tuesday, December 2nd, join us in changing lives! You’re invited to be more than a donor—you can be a founder of futures.
