Volunteer Spotlight: Bella G.
Bella Gonzales has been volunteering with us at Plummer since she was nine years old. Her mother, Amanda Gonzales, organizes our Holiday Gift Drive each year and Bella is her right hand Elf. Every Holiday season, Bella dedicates countless hours organizing, labeling, wrapping and personalizing hundreds of individual gifts for our youth alongside her mother and family. You can always count on Bella to put her compassion, time, and effort into the drive to make it a success.
What is really special about Bella is that she puts personalized touches on each and every gift for our youth. She is extremely detail-oriented and pays close attention our youths’ favorite colors and themes based on their wish lists. Thanks to Bella and her family, we see smiles light up on the faces of our youth during the Holiday season because they see their favorite character on their wrapping paper, or see their name spelt right on the To and From tag from Santa.
Not only does Bella excel at any position you put her in, Bella is an absolute joy to work with. She is friendly, positive, warm, outgoing and makes you feel welcome and connected as a Plummer volunteer in whatever project or event you may join in on. Her passion, can-do attitude, and team-building skills are an inspiration to all. We will miss her when she leaves for college, but we cannot wait to hear about all of the amazing things she will accomplish. Thank you, Bella!
“Plummer Youth Promise is a great organization and I am so happy to be a small part of it. I have other organizations that I support but this is the only one where I feel a real connection. You play a big role in helping me feel connected.”

We are immensely grateful for the many people who help Plummer Youth Promise achieve it’s mission by giving time. Volunteer opportunities range from short-term commitments like helping with mailings or events, to long-term commitments, like mentoring.
Before volunteering at Plummer for anything other than a one-day project or event, you will need to attend some training. At the low end, training will include a one-hour overview of the work we do and the young people we serve. For long-term commitments like mentoring, training is considerably more substantial. Also depending on the nature of the volunteer work, volunteers will need to compete a background check.
To learn more about volunteer opportunities, please contact our Community Engagement & Events Manager Emily Lonergan at firstname.lastname@example.org, or sign up for one of our information sessions listed below. All sessions will be held at Plummer Youth Promise at 37 Winter Island Road in Salem, MA.
