What is Paddle for Plummer?

A Stand Up Paddle (SUP) charity event, including a Community Fun Paddle, Recreational Race, Short Course Race, Long Course Race, Relay Race, Kids Race, and other fitness events, including spinning and SUP Yoga. Join us the night before for a Paddleboard Clinic. ALL LEVELS WELCOME. No experience needed.

Where will it take place?

The start/finish location is at Plummer Youth Promise, 37 Winter Island Road, Salem, MA.

When is it?

Saturday, July 13th, 2019.

Is there a rain date?

No, the event is rain or shine. If dangerous conditions arise, such as lightning or the threat of a severe storm, we will cancel. Check this site or our Facebook page for updates.

Is there parking?

Yes, volunteers will help unload your gear and store it safely while you park in nearby lots on Fort Avenue, which is .3 mile away from Plummer is approximately a 6-minute walk.

How much does it cost?

$25. Wait, what? Only $25 to race? YES!

Ask a few friends to support you and complete your fundraising minimum just like that! Set your goal high and earn yourself some sweet, sweet prizes!

Long Course Race- $25 + $175 fundraising minimum
Short Course Race- $25 + $175 fundraising minimum
Recreational Race- $25 + $175 fundraising minimum
Community Fun Paddle- $25 + $75 fundraising minimum
Relay Race- $50 ($25 per paddler) + $175 fundraising minimum per paddler
Kids Paddle Race- $25 (Free with adult registration. Ask us for the promo code!)

Spin- $50
SUP Yoga- $50

There is no charge for spectators, but be sure to bring money for food, drinks and fun swag!

Do I need to wear a leash when I paddle?

Yes.

Do I need a life preserver?

Yes – Type II PFD’s are required by law to be attached to all paddle boards. Type II PFDs are available at most sporting goods stores.

Do I need to wear a whistle?

Yes, for safety reasons we’re requiring all paddlers to wear a whistle. We will provide you with the whistle.

Can I kayak?

Yes! Sign up for the Community Fun Paddle and kayak the course! You can use a 1-person or 2-person kayak or kids kayak. You will need to bring your own PFD.
