Music program director Aaron Katz writes a song with one of his students

Thank you for your interest in Plummer Youth Promise, where our innovative Intervention Model is changing the lives of at-risk youth in communities throughout Northeastern Massachusetts.

Each year we help more than 200 young men and women through our five programs. Our work is critical but we can’t do it without your involvement. Here are the harsh facts:

  • In the U.S., 23,000 young people leave foster care each year with no permanent family. By the time they turn 24, more than 50 percent will be unemployed and 37 percent will experience homelessness
  • Massachusetts is among the 10 states with the highest percentage of youth facing this reality
  • 75 percent of our operating dollars come from federal and state contracts and grants; this funding is expected to decrease as pressure to rein in government spending increases. The remainder is funded by the kindness of donors
  • While we are proud of the difference we make in the lives of these youth, there are many more who need our help

You can assist Plummer Youth Promise in this essential work by making a donation, participating in or hosting an event or volunteering. We also need loving adults who are willing to become foster parents.
